Chi Alpha Christian Fellowship UMASS

Christ Followers

Jesus loved the poor, challenged the powerful, and healed the hurting. He brought normal people into adventurous spirituality that changed the world. To be true followers of him means less about where we go to church and more about what we do with his teachings. The Kingdom of God is just as much a here and now reality, as it is a hope of the future.

Our Values

guiding principles

Isaiah wrote about what Jesus and His kingdom would represent stating, "The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the LORD has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound..."(Isaiah 61:1)
The Freedom Cafe is a cafe in our ministry house where you can get a coffee, tea, or cocoa and all profits go to end human trafficking. We are looking for volunteers to liberate captives and the oppressed.

Moses writes, "...God loves the foreigners residing among you...and you are to love those who are foreigners...(Dt. 10:17-19)
Are you new to the country and UMass? Internationals are welcome at everything! "An American Picnic" and "An American Christmas," and the MOSAIC conference were designed with you in mind. Our American Friends Program also serves to connect internationals to Americans. If you'd like to be or have an "American Friend" fill out our application, or read more about our program.

Jesus said to love God with everything you have (Luke 10:27) was the most important commandment. The second was to love our neighbor as our self. A connection to God gives us an inner strength that inspires and energizes us to change our world beyond what we could without Him. To be fully human is to be who you were created to be.

Everybody has relationships, but Jesus said to "love one another, even as I have loved you" and that "By this all men will know that you are My disciples.." We are trying to emulate His love in how we treat and honor each other and the world.

New to all this?

Not everyone who followed Jesus believed or understood everything He said (including the disciples at first). So wherever you are "at" with Jesus, you are most welcome to follow with us.
